Everything you need to know to set up and manage your AI chatbot

Creating Your Account

Step 1: Sign Up

  1. Click the "Get Started" button on our homepage
  2. Enter your email address and create a password (minimum 8 characters)
  3. Check the box to agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
  4. Click "Create Account"

Step 2: Verify Your Email

  1. Check your inbox for an email from Rise My Rank
  2. Click the "Confirm Email Address" button
  3. You'll be redirected to your dashboard

💡 Tip: Check your spam folder if you don't see the email within 5 minutes.

When you sign up, you automatically get:

Creating Your First Chatbot

After confirming your email, you'll be taken through our 4-step onboarding wizard:

Step 1: Business Information

Tell us about your business:

  • Business Name: The name of your company (Required)
  • Description: Brief overview of what you do (Optional)
  • Website: Your business website URL (Optional)
  • Phone: Contact phone number (Optional)
  • Email: Contact email address (Optional)
  • Address: Physical location (Optional)
  • Booking Link: Link to your calendar/scheduling page (Optional)

Step 2: Services

Add the services you offer:

  1. Type in a service name (e.g., "Website Design", "SEO Consulting")
  2. Click "Add Service"
  3. Repeat for all your services
  4. You can remove services by clicking the X button

💡 Tip: Add 3-10 services for best results. This helps your chatbot answer questions about what you offer.

Step 3: FAQs

Add frequently asked questions:

  1. Enter a common question customers ask
  2. Type your answer
  3. Click "Add FAQ"
  4. Repeat for 5-10 common questions

Example FAQs:

  • "What are your business hours?" → "We're open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST"
  • "How much do your services cost?" → "Prices start at $99/month for our basic package"
  • "Do you offer free consultations?" → "Yes! We offer a free 30-minute consultation"

Step 4: Customize Appearance

Make the chatbot match your brand:

  • Bot Name: What should visitors call your chatbot? (e.g., "Alex", "Support Bot")
  • Primary Color: Choose a color that matches your brand
  • Greeting Message: The first thing visitors see (e.g., "Hi! How can I help you today?")
  • Tone: Choose between Friendly, Professional, or Casual

You'll be taken to your dashboard!

Customizing Your Chatbot

You can update your chatbot settings anytime from your dashboard:

Editing Settings

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Select your business from the dropdown
  3. Click the "Customize" tab
  4. Click "Edit Settings"
  5. Make your changes
  6. Click "Save Changes"

What You Can Change

  • Business information and contact details
  • Services offered
  • FAQ questions and answers
  • Chatbot appearance (color, name, greeting)
  • Tone and personality
  • Booking links

ℹ️ Note: Changes take effect immediately - no need to reinstall the widget on your website!

Installing on Your Website

Universal Installation (All Platforms)

  1. Get Your Code:
    • Go to your Dashboard
    • Find the "Embed Widget" section
    • Click "Copy Code"
  2. Add to Your Website:
    • Open your website's HTML editor
    • Find the closing </body> tag
    • Paste the code RIGHT BEFORE the </body> tag
    • Save your changes
  3. Test It:
    • Visit your website
    • You should see the chatbot widget in the bottom-right corner
    • Click it and ask a question!

Platform-Specific Instructions

WordPress

Method 1: Using a Plugin

  1. Install "Insert Headers and Footers" plugin
  2. Go to Settings → Insert Headers and Footers
  3. Paste the code in the "Footer" section
  4. Click "Save"

Method 2: Theme Editor

  1. Go to Appearance → Theme Editor
  2. Open footer.php
  3. Paste code before </body>
  4. Click "Update File"
Shopify
  1. Go to Online Store → Themes
  2. Click "Actions" → "Edit Code"
  3. Open theme.liquid file
  4. Paste code before </body>
  5. Click "Save"
Wix
  1. Go to Settings → Custom Code
  2. Click "+ Add Custom Code"
  3. Paste your widget code
  4. Name it "Rise My Rank Chatbot"
  5. Choose "Body - End" for placement
  6. Apply to "All Pages"
  7. Click "Apply"
Squarespace
  1. Go to Settings → Advanced → Code Injection
  2. Paste code in "Footer" section
  3. Click "Save"
Webflow
  1. Go to Project Settings → Custom Code
  2. Paste code in "Footer Code" section
  3. Click "Save"
  4. Publish your site

💡 Troubleshooting: If the chatbot doesn't appear, clear your browser cache and hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac).

Managing Leads & Conversations

Viewing Leads

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Select your business
  3. Click the "Leads" tab
  4. You'll see all captured leads in a table with:
    • Name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Message they sent
    • Date captured

How Lead Capture Works

The chatbot automatically detects and saves when visitors share:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Names (when they say "My name is...")

You don't need to do anything - it happens automatically!

Viewing Conversations

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Click the "Conversations" tab
  3. Click on any conversation to see the full chat history
  4. See what questions visitors are asking

Exporting Data

Want to export your leads to a spreadsheet?

  1. Go to the Leads tab
  2. Copy the data from the table
  3. Paste into Excel or Google Sheets

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing tab
  2. Click "Upgrade Now"
  3. Choose your plan
  4. Enter payment information
  5. Click "Subscribe"

Changes take effect immediately!

Changing Plans

You can upgrade or downgrade anytime:

  • Upgrade: Takes effect immediately, prorated billing
  • Downgrade: Takes effect at end of current billing cycle

Canceling Your Subscription

  1. Go to Dashboard → Billing tab
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Confirm cancellation
  4. Your service remains active until the end of your billing period

⚠️ Important: When your subscription ends, your chatbots will stop working and all data will be deleted after 30 days.

Billing Cycle & Invoices

  • You're billed monthly on the date you subscribed
  • Receipts are automatically emailed to you
  • View past invoices in your Dashboard → Billing tab

Payment Methods

We accept:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit cards
  • All payments processed securely through Stripe

Troubleshooting

Chatbot Not Appearing

Try these steps:

  1. Clear your browser cache
  2. Do a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R)
  3. Make sure the code is placed before </body>
  4. Check if JavaScript is enabled in your browser
  5. Try a different browser
  6. Check your website's Content Security Policy settings

Chatbot Not Responding

  • Check if you've reached your monthly message limit
  • Verify your subscription is active
  • Make sure you added FAQs and services during setup
  • Try asking a different question

Not Capturing Leads

The chatbot looks for this information in visitor messages:

  • Email addresses (e.g., john@example.com)
  • Phone numbers (e.g., 555-123-4567)
  • Names (when users say "My name is John")

If visitors don't share this info, no lead is captured. Encourage them to share contact details in your greeting message!

Forgot Password

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Click "Forgot Password"
  3. Enter your email
  4. Check your inbox for reset link
  5. Click the link and create a new password

Payment Failed

If your payment fails:

  • Check that your card is valid and has sufficient funds
  • Update your payment method in Dashboard → Billing
  • Contact your bank if the issue persists
  • We'll email you before suspending service

Common Questions

Can I use Rise My Rank on multiple websites?

Yes! You can install the same chatbot on multiple pages or domains. With the Professional plan, you can create separate chatbots for different businesses.

What counts as a "message"?

Each visitor question counts as one message. The chatbot's response doesn't count. For example, if a visitor asks 5 questions in one conversation, that's 5 messages.

Can I customize the chatbot's responses?

Yes! The chatbot uses the information you provide (services, FAQs, business details) to answer questions. The more info you add, the better it responds.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely. We use bank-level encryption, secure servers, and never sell your data to third parties. Your leads and conversations are only accessible by you.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Go to Settings and click "Delete Account". This will permanently delete all your chatbots, leads, and data. This action cannot be undone.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't offer refunds for partial months, but you can cancel anytime and your service will remain active until the end of your billing period.

What happens if I exceed my message limit?

Your chatbot will pause until your next billing cycle, or you can upgrade to a higher plan immediately to keep it running.
